Prepositions
In, on, at, over, under, behind, in front of, among, between
Prepositions of place: in, on at, among, between
1. On indicates contact with a surface.
Example: the book is on the table.
2. In indicates something inside certain limits.
Example: the chalk is in the box.
3. At indicates proximity.
Example: John is at the blackboard.
4. At is used with specific places.
Example: I am at school. I am at home.
a) The teacher is in the classroom.
b) The teacher is at the blackboard.
c) The book is on the table.
d) The pencil is in the box.
e) The light is over the table.
f) The eraser is under the desk.
g) The blackboard is behind the teacher.
h) The teacher is in front of the students.
i) John is between Mary and Jane.
j) The teacher is among her students.
k) Where is the book? It is on the table.
l) Where is the pencil? It is in the box.
m) We are at school.
n) Miss Jones is at the blackboard.
o) The boys are at the door.
