3º Ano 11 de junho de 2011 – sábado PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE


O past continuous tense indica uma ação que estava acontecendo no passado, enquanto outra ação acontecia. Forma-se com o passado do auxiliar to be mais o gerúndio verbo principal.

Exemplo: She was reading a book when we arrived. (xi uaz ridin a buk uen uí araived) Ela estava lendo um livro quando nós chegamos.
Observe como se forma o past continuous tense:
Affirmative form
I was going (ái uaz gouen) Eu estava indo
You were going (iú uêr gouen) Você estava indo
He was going (rri uaz gouen) ele estava indo
She was going (xi uaz gouen) ela estava indo
We were going (uí uêr gouen) nós estávamos indo
You were going (iú uêr gouen) vocês estavam indo
They were going (dhêi uêr gouen) eles/elas estavam indo

Negative form
I was not going
You were not going
He was not going
She was not going
We were not going
You were not going
They were not going

Interrogative form
Was I going?
Were you going?
Was he going?
Was she going?
Were we going?
Were you going?
Were they going?
